Pike went to the front on him and rated him beautifully to kick well clear down the straight and record a satisfying victory for Ryan.Who named the galloper after his father. He is out of the Celtic Swing mare Not Judes Choice who won four races in her career. Balf's Choice has now won five of his last six starts.
Marie Halidon Cup -- The John Hickmont trained, 7 year old gelding, Danouli was given a dream ride by Raquel Clarke on Sunday. She sat the Danerich gelding up on the speed and as they straightened Clare Lindop aboard Halayr Rothestar issued a strong challenge but Raquel got everything out of Danouli to get it home by a head.
Dubbo Gold Cup -- Brazen, the five year old, Hinchinbrook gelding is out of the Belong To Me mare, Sirenese who won 7 of 27 starts, Brazen gained an inside run to take out the Dubbo Gold Cup . Clayton Gallagher rode and Brett Cavanough trained horse won the 1600m event .
Newcastle Gold Cup -- Tim Clark, took Broadside straight to the front in the early stages of the Newcastle Cup and set up a genuine tempo.Broadside looked in trouble at the top of the straight but kept on finding and .Trainer Adrian Bott confirmed that Broadside would head to the Group 1 The Metropolitan before potentially heading to Melbourne for the Group 1 Caulfield Cup and the Group 1 Melbourne Cup 3200m.Broadside is by the son of Sadlers Wells , Raise The Flag who stands at New Zealands, White Robe Lodge Farm.
Birdsville Cup -- Fast Fella, the 5 year old Fastnet Rock gelding is spreading the breeds success across the Australian continent with a win in the 135th Birdsville Cup while Merchant Navy and Formality had wins at Caulfield ,Randwick on the weekend. Fast Fella was ridden by Rockhampton jockey, Adrian Coombe, for trainer Craig Smith who recorded his second Cup winner.This year the race was streamed live on Facebook.
Murwilliambah Cup -- Anne Bonny was the winner of the 1530m Cup ridden by Belinda Hodder and making it three wins in a row .The 5 year old mare is by the Redoutes Choice stallion Stratum who was bred in 2002 with both Vain and Luskin Star on the broodmare side. She has now won 6 from her 21 starts and a total of $85,900 in prizemoney. Anne Bonny is nominated for this Thursdays Ballina Cup in an attempt to make it four in a row. The drama packed cup left a young jockey Laura Cheshire with some story to tell as her mount Secret Blend lost the bridle and took her on three lap tour of the Murwillambah track and stewards having a decision to make after the false start siren went off accidentally.

Tuncurry Cup 2100m -- On 1st October 2008, the Tuncurry-Forster Jockey Club was granted a licence to conduct race meetings on the Tuncurry track. The official announcement was made by the Minister for Racing, Kevin Greene – the Jockey Club had fulfilled the requirements, and had a licence to start racing on 17th January 2009.
Calanda -- The Snitzel, 3yo gelding Calanda has now won five of his 11 starts for earnings of just over $400,000 in prizemoney . Paul Snowden said "the gelding would now be put out for a spell before returning in the spring." "Whether he goes to Sydney or to Melbourne for the spring we don't know just yet but he is a handy horse and he is paying his way.” "He is beating older horses at this age and now he has to back it up when he comes back to the track as a four-year-old." Soaring High -- Clare Lindop rode the Excellent Art 4yo gelding out of the Zabeel mare, Golden Eagle, to victory in the Port Augusta Cup over 2300m, on Sunday . She took the gelding to the lead rounding the turn after taking a sit for most of the race and he held off all challenges.
Multiple Group I winner Excellent Art was a champion European, English and Irish three-year-old and has Group I success with Under The Louvre and his second crop are in training in India. He is a son of Pivotal and has sired Group 3 winners Hazel Lavery and Experience, as well as stakes winners Artistic Jewel, Tropaios, Nimohe, and Sparkling Portrait. He also has sired French Quebec and Pegas, champions in the Czech Republic. He has Secretariat and Mr Prospector blood on the dams side and Nureyev on the Stallions.

Krupt -- Mr McBat won the 1600m South Grafton Cup earlier in the week. The Wyong galloper Mr McBat put a disastrous last start , Wauchope Cup in the past with a thrilling victory in the $50,000 event. For trainer Damien Lane it was the perfect way to cap off his first trip to the Grafton July Carnival as Mr McBat and jockey Jason Taylor stormed over the top of the field to win going away. Krupt will stand this spring at a new property in Southern Tasmania, Kingsley Park Thoroughbreds. A good looking son of champion sire Flying Spur, Krupt always showed immense ability in training and at just his third start won the Group Two Todman Stakes and was a one time favourite for the Golden Slipper. "We are delighted to be standing Krupt as our first stallion at our farm at Cygnet," Kingsley Park's Rohan Gudden said. "He is a top class stallion with excellent conformation, a lovely nature and he boasts an excellent fertility rate of 90 per cent.""This is only the tip of the iceberg for Krupt. South Australia -- While apprentice Brandon Griffiths won 5 races at the Sunday meeting at Port Augusta. It was Jeff Maund who rode Its Humphrey to victory.The 4yo gelding by Hard Spun out of the Snippets mare Februarytwelve won the benchmark 64 . At Balaclava last wednesday the 2200m benchmark 64 was won by Gun Guru the 3yo gelding is by Al Maher. 1000m BM64 winner was the Street Cry gelding Affray the runner up was an I Am Invincible 3yo filly Show Bender.
